If you choose a Catbox, and we certainly hope you do, there are two "comment" boxes on the order page which will ask you where you'd like your entrance (right, left, both sides or on the top), and what size entrance (8" X 8", 8"W X 10H", or 10" X 10") you prefer. It is in these comment boxes that you can let us know what will work for you. Thank you!
Each CATBOX cabinet is made to order. The biggest choice, apart from the wood and finish you desire, is the cat entrance. The standard entrance is 8" wide by 10" high, but you can choose a small 8" X 8" or large 10" X 10" entrance AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. Also, we will put your cat entrance(s) ANYWHERE on the cabinet AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! That being said, let's familiarize you with the cat entrance options which you will request on the order form:
First off, it's important to understand that the side with the SWINGING DOORS and SLIDING TRAY is the FRONT of the cabinet. Unless you want your entrance in one of the swinging doors or atop the cabinet, your selection will be either "left" (of the front doors), "right" (of the front doors), or "both" (sides).
In the photo above, is a "right-hand entrance" cabinet. The "front" of every Catbox is where you can see the two main doors swing open to slide out the litter tray... so the "back" of the cabinet in the above photos is against the right-hand wall. The "back" of the cabinet is not finished.
Facing the front of the Catbox, your kitty would enter this cabinet on the right hand side... the side that you see our full-grown cat "Aurora" coming out of.
The beautiful satin finished Maple Catbox above is a "left-hand entrance" cabinet. Notice that the opening for the kitty is to the left of the front swinging doors.
Sometimes you might want to change the position of your Catbox cabinet or just want to make it easier for your felines to get to. If you really want to leave your options open then you can order your cabinet with "entrances on both sides". This allows your kitties to access the Catbox from either side as well as allowing more air flow.
The entrance shown above is our unique "dog-proof" top entrance option. This Catbox cabinet has no side entrances, only the "top" entrance. This entrance is recommended for people with dogs who love to "snack" on cat items that they really shouldn't be eating.
The entrance shown above, and in all of the above photos, is an 8" X 10" standard entrance. If you are the proud owner of a "Fat Cat," you may choose the large 10" X 10" entrance sure to allow your pet ample passage. Some miniature dog owners have gone with 8" X 8" entrances placed in the top center of the sides to keep the pooch out while the agile cats freely come and go. One client wedged their Catbox between the corner and the sofa, choosing to put the entrance in one of the front swinging doors. Where do you want your entrance? Let us know!
